Wednesday Classes

- North Ipswich Bowls Club-

Beginners 7.00pm-8.00pm Improvers 8.00pm-9.00pm

Cost: $8 (you can do Beginners, Improvers or both)

Beginners Classes

We take new people into the beginners classes until week two, you can join in after week two, if you've danced before.

JDK Beginners classes cater for the complete beginner up to mid-level social dancing.

Most people feel they have 'two left feet'...
Society has conditioned us to expect instant gratification and we want to be able to dance after one lesson - NOT possible!

Being self-conscious, we also tend to judge ourselves more harshly than we judge others. At JDK no one has expectations of your ability. WE EXPECT YOU TO HAVE A GOOD TIME

There is always someone better than you and always someone worse than you and WHO CARES ANYWAY?

...enjoy the music, enjoy the company and enjoy the exercise!

We recommend you complete at least two six week sets of ‘Beginners’ classes before moving into Improvers. The best dancers in our ‘Improvers’ classes still join in the Beginners classes too.

Improvers Classes

Classes for people wanting to be challenged with more difficult moves. Most people participating in the Improvers classes still do the beginners classes, just for the warm up or simply for the fun and to meet the new people and help them up to speed.

Paying for the Improvers classes allows you to participate in the beginners classes as well.

Some people feel the step up from beginners to improvers is too big. To give yourself a head start, we have a few suggestions: Before attempting the Improvers class, complete at least two beginners sets (12 weeks), then attend Improvers. The move we teach in Improvers one week is repeated the following week at the beginning of the lesson then we move on to a new move. So you get to go over the move twice in a teaching setting. We also allocate time for practise at the beginning and end of lesson
